-   To steer the development of green collar jobs and create a green network among developers, architects, builders and environmental sustainability experts.

-   To encourage transparent design and construction initiatives.

-   To promote the integration of green technologies into the construction industry.

OUR LAUNCH

The Rwanda Green Building Organization was launched on the 22nd November 2016, held alongside the Rwanda Institute of Architects (RIA) symposium held at the Mariott Hotel in Kigali City.

During this annual event, more than 200 RIA members and associate members were drawn from disciplines such as architecture, land survey and management, engineering, and construction. Attendees discussed ways of improving their professional practices and set up appropriate guidelines, as well as participating in the launching of the Rwanda Green Building Organization.

The RWGBO and Government Institutions such as the Rwanda Environment and Management Agency (REMA), the Rwanda Housing Authority, and other key partners like GGGI, Singapore Building and Construction Authority (BCA), and UN-Habitat are continuing discussions on how to chart ways of collaborating in order to take the operationalization of the RWGBO forward.
